In Anna Müller-Lincke kandidiert (Anna Müller-Lincke runs for office) the actress appears as an election-fighting feminist. The film promotes active participation of women in the elections to the National Assembly in Germany in January 1919.

Anna Müller-Lincke (1869-1935) already had a career as a soubrette and actress on renowned Berlin stages before her silent-film career. From 1910 she began to act in silent film comedies: Her classic role was buxom, loud and passionate ladies of a certain age, as in Durchlaucht amüsiert sich (1917). The advent of sound film was no problem to the former singer either; she landed roles including in successful comedies like Der wahre Jakob and Lumpenball as well as in the propaganda film Hitlerjunge Quex (1933).
