IFFF Dortmund+Köln 2022 opens on March 29 with the German premiere of the Brazilian documentary Kevin by Joana Oliveira from the Panorama section. It tells of the filmmaker’s longtime friendship with Kevin. They met about two decades ago in Germany, and today Kevin lives with their children back in Uganda, where Joana visits them for the first time.

Between everyday life and common undertakings we get an insight into an unconditional relationship that brings joy. In the process, a self-determined picture emerges of friends who both try to keep their freedoms despite the expectations placed on them, as an artist, as a woman giving birth and a mother, as a partner.

Director Joana Oliveira and Kevin Adweko are expected to be guests in Cologne. We will show the film in the original version with English and German subtitles.

Tickets cannot be purchased for the opening. Kevin will also be shown on 01.04.22 at 9 p.m. in the Filmpalast Cologne and on 02. 04.22 at 8:30 p.m. in Dortmund at Schauburg.
