A free short film programme for integration classes

Where language fails, images can make things instantly clear, understandable and transparent. In the run-up to the festival, young refugees view short films at a workshop and compile a selection for the IWFF Dortmund | Cologne. With this programme which relies on the genuine power of the cinema, we invite international special needs classes to get to know new aspects of film. The film contributions are aimed at children aged seven and over and tell stories with little or no dialogue. We show aesthetically diverse works from all kinds of genres that are of social, political and thematic interest to a young audience.

The programme is part of the project »Digital dabei! 3.0 – Junge Geflüchtete partizipieren durch aktive Medienarbeit« (Digital participation! 3.0 – Young refugees participate in active media work). In cooperation with LAG Lokale Medienarbeit NRW e.V., funded by the Ministry for Children, Family Affairs, Refugees and Integration of the State of NRW.
