Well, come – Kommt alle!
A free short film programme for integration classes
Prior to the International Women’s Film Festival, young refugees at the Frenzelschule in Dortmund-Hörde were invited to preview short films and compile a selection for the Festival. The films are aimed at children and youths from the age of ten, and contain either no or very little dialogue. With this programme, which relies on the real impact of cinema and cross-language understanding using images and sound, we in particular seek to invite classes with an international make-up to experience new facets of film and cinema. We show outstanding animation, documentary or feature films, which, in terms of content, appeal to a young audience while also introducing various forms of
aesthetic expression – without elaborate dialogue, but using much wit and imagination. It is also planned that the programme will actually be presented by young residents of the Dortmund refugee Frenzelschule itself.
