And the Image Gazes Back: Short Film Programme by belit sağ curated by Cana Bilir-Meier

Film artist Cana Bilir-Meier dedicates this programme to the artist belit sağ. With her films, sağ pursues a media archaeology of the power of images. In her short films she asks many questions: Can an image capture a soul? Can I surveil someone by capturing his/her image? Is censorship something that affects my practice of speaking? Through these questions, sağ thinks about the images she produces about the impact of images, namely images of conflict or images of violence. Images can be images of violence, but they can also become an extension of the same violence.
