Polish curator and record collector Kornelia Binicewicz (Ladies on Records) lives in Istanbul where she is researching the music of Turkish artists. On her musical journey, she is concentrating on Turkish musicians and singers and has curated two vinyl compilations: Uzelli Psychedelic Anadolu (2017) and Turkish Ladies. Female singers from Turkey 1974 – 1988 (2018, Sony Music). As an author and scientist, her research focus is the music of the 1960s to 80s. Her vinyl-only DJ sets include rare and popular 45s and LPs by musical divas and heroes of the late 60s, 70s and 80s. Obscure Turkish sounds, hypnotic grooves, beastly belly dance music with synthesisers, organ and less amenable sounds from all corners of the world are mixed with western arrangements and popular styles of the 60s, 70s and 80s.
