»Elbow« at »ifs-Begegnung« Gender & Diversity

On Wednesday, October 9th, we will be showing the feature film Elbow by Aslı Özarslan together with ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln.
The film adaptation of Fatma Aydemir’s bestseller of the same name was the opening film of the IFFF 2024 and also won our International Debut Feature Film Competition.
We are therefore very pleased to be able to present this great film to you once again as part of our series »ifs-Begegnung« Gender & Diversity.
After the screening we welcome the Turkish DoP Andac Karabeyoglu Thomas as our evening’s guest. Her unique camera work contributed significantly to the success of the film. Andac will talk to Maxa Zoller about her creative approach, her artistic soul mates and the influence of the famous Łódź film school, at which she studied. The discussion will be held in English.
Women DoPs are a particular focus at the IFFF Dortmund+Köln program, see also the new Female Gaze award.
