The Daughter of Both Women

Journals, photos, smartphone videos: Iona pieces together her life like an audiovisual collage. She speaks about her anger towards her mother, who shares parenting with a friend, about menstruation, boys and dates. The absence of her father intensifies Iona’s inner turmoil. What makes a family – a family tree or a feeling? The filmic fragments of Iona’s youth become pieces of a puzzle that allow her to explore both her own identity and her relationship with her mother.

Quesada aus Katalonien, Nhoa Carmona Aguilar aus Valencia, Malena Montiel Rodríguez aus La Rioja, Alejandra López Puebla aus Chile und Nora Alberdi Odriozola aus dem Baskenland haben sich im Rahmen des Masterstudiengangs Creative Documentary Making an der Autonomen Universität Barcelona zusammengefunden, um diesen Film zu drehen.
