Ostrich

After seeing pictures on social media, a sparrow decides it wants to look like an ostrich. It trains relentlessly and sets about reshaping its body – until it realises this ideal is simply out of reach. Eventually, it learns to appreciate what its own body has to offer. Humorous, sharp and colourful, the film takes a playful swipe at the tyranny of beauty standards and celebrates individuality and diversity.

Marie Kenov
Marie Kenov, 1990 in Basel geboren, lebt und arbeitet in Luzern in den Bereichen Grafik, Illustration und Animation. 2016 schloss sie ihren Bachelor in Plakatdesign und visueller Kommunikation an der Nationalen Kunstakademie in Sofia ab, 2020 folgte ein zweiter Bachelor in Animation an der Hochschule Luzern. Ihr Abschlussfilm Sweet Nothing (Co-Regie mit Joana Fischer) lief weltweit auf Festivals, u. a. Annecy, Palm Springs ShortFest und Sundance.
