15 September: »Lingui – Heilige Bande« at World Views Dortmund

After the summer break, we are starting the next round of our series World Views Dortmund. Every 2nd / 3rd Sunday of the month at 3 pm, we show entertaining as well as thoughtful films from different countries to make the prism through which we see the world even more colourful.

People with and without an international history, women with refugee experience, their families and anyone interested in excellent, often rarely shown international films directed by women are warmly invited to the programme.

For our opening film we are showing the feature film Lingui – The Sacred Bonds. Set in the capital of Chad and shot at original locations, this film tells the story of strong-willed single mother Amina and her 15-year-old daughter, Maria. A quiet, powerful film about the ‘sacred bond’ between mother and daughter.
