January 12th: »Tarpaulins« film & talk with Lisa Truttmann in Düsseldorf

Under the title »Nichts als Zukunft (Nothing but Future)«, an extensive program is currently taking place in the OPEN SPACE in the Kunstsammlung NRW in Düsseldorf on the central questions about the present and future of our planet. Our curator Betty Schiel has put together a workshop and a film program as part of our cooperation with the Kunstsammlung NRW.

In addition, the Austrian director Lisa Truttmann will be a guest on January 12th, who will present her documentary Tarpaulins in conversation with Betty Schiel: Termites give Truttmann an unusual access to the city of Los Angeles. The visual framework for this film is formed by huge plastic tarpaulins in which exterminators encase buildings used to combat termites. Truttmann reveals the political, social and economic relationships between the city’s residents.

WED January 12th. 7 – 8.30 p.m., K20, Grabbeplatz 5, 40213 Düsseldorf
