This is our key visual 2023!

The international success of female filmmakers will also be a central theme at the 40th edition of the festival. Germany’s largest and oldest women’s film festival presents, discusses and honors the films of a new global generation of female directors while also addressing the legacy of feminist cinema.

>>Accreditation for filmmakers, students and journalists is now possible, registration deadline is April 7th.

The design of our poster and our materials is again in the hands of Ina Bunge and the Dortmund based Ten Ten Team, photo: Marina Weigl. The key visual is inspired by film noir and surrealist film of the 1920s. It shows an enigmatic situation that arouses curiosity: what happened here? Film objects such as the camera and the sound pompom are combined with abstract film metaphors such as the broken mirror and a spiral that can be interpreted as a reference to the rhythmic, circular temporality of feminist cinema.

Save the Date! From 18th to 23rd April you can finally experience and celebrate our analog festival with us and many international filmmakers – again after two slowed down years. The complete program will be available in mid-March.

We look forward to seeing you again – preferably in the cinema!
