Working on it
Karin Michalski, Sabian Baumann
A film about gender and sexual identity.
With the help of interviews and enactments, the discourse on gender and identity is intervened. How are these topics constructed in the workplace, in the cinema/TV or in relationships at home? How can these attributions be countered?
The 15 performers show images, perform, play Queer Electronics and talk about queer strategies in the field of sexual politics.
The film avoids showing narratives about sexuality and gender as ›authentic‹ in the sense of a classical documentary. Instead, it seeks experimental cinematic means that expose »talking about oneself« as a viable fiction and a necessary »work«.
