Accompanied by Patti Smith’s refrain: »Helpless, helpless …« Klara Lidén’s Video stands exemplarily for the illustration of an »impasse« that the US- theorist Lauren Berlant suggested as a political phrase.

Klara Lidén

From 2000 to 2004, Klara Lidén studied Architecture at the Royal Technical College of Stockholm and the University of the Arts in Berlin. She then continued her professional training at the Konstfack Academy of Art in Stockholm. Her biggest solo exhibition so far was presented the Serpentine Gallery in London in 2010. In 2011, Klara Lidén received a Special Award at the Venice Biennial of Art, and the Prize of the National Gallery for Young Art. The Carnegie Art Award was bestowed on her in 2012. Currently, the artist lives and works in Berlin.
