The Film All-Nighter

Tram depicts the surreal and sexual fantasies of a woman tram driver who lets herself be stimulated by the juddering and vibrating of her vehicle as well as the rhythm of the ticket-punching machine.

Michaela Pavlátová

Michaela Pavlátová was born in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1961 and studied animation at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design there. Her animation film Reci, reci, reci (Words, Words, Words, 1991) was nominated for an Oscar. Her short animated film Repete (Repeat, 2001) won a Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival and elsewhere. In 2006, working with Vratislav Hlavaty, an illustrator, she animated Karneval zvirat (The Carnival of Animals). In 2008, she directed her first feature film Deti noci (Children of Night). Ms Pavlátová lives and works in Prague.
