Tongues – Tanja Tagaq
Caitlin Veitch, Omar Rivero
Tanya Tagaq is a visual artist, author, songwriter and Inuk throat singer. The song Tongues is an explicit and poetic statement from an activist who wants to revive her suppressed language. Caitlin Veitch translates the powerful and disparate sound into contemporary body horror. Set against a barren landscape, an enormous blood-red tongue unfurls and clashes with a cross.
