The Rock Speaks
The Rock Speaks
Francois Knoetze, Amy Louise Wilson
A cobalt stone brings together a chorus of voices in a transcontinental journey that begins in the Democratic Republic of Congo and culminates in a refrain of collective resistance. Together with Congolese historian Joe-Yves Salankang Sa-Ngol, Ami Louise Wilson and Francois Knoetze follow the metal’s journey en route to stock markets around the world. Using generative AI, the film highlights the obscene nature of the exploitation that feeds our technological desires.
