The Name of the Son
Martina Matzkin
Thirteen-year-old trans boy Lucho knows exactly who he is. When he spends a few days at the beach with his family, the rather distanced relationship between father and son is put to the test. They are suddenly forced to spend more time together. While Lucho is preoccupied with the changes that are taking place in his body, his father endeavours to maintain a connection to his child.

Martina Matzkin
Martina Matzkin lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied cinema and took a postgraduate course in documentary film-making at Universidad de Buenos Aires. In 2018, she was selected for Talents Buenos Aires (organised by Berlinale Talents and Universidad del Cine). Her third short film, The Name of the Son , was funded by the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts and the Argentinian National Arts Fund, and had its world premiere at the 70th Berlinale, where it won two awards.
