’Ricerche: Three’
Sharon Hayes (Artist)
In ’Ricerche: Three’ Sharon Hayes is engaging in a conversation with 35 students who are enrolled in an all women’s college in western Massachusetts. She has noted that the space of single sex education in the United States is intriguing to her in its balance point position between archaic notions of feminine safety and propriety and its actual condition of extremely progressive sexual expression. The video is inspired by Pier Paolo Pasolini’s film, Comizi d’Amore, 1963.
Sharon Hayes (Artist)
Sharon Hayes’ work is concerned with developing new representational strategies that examine and interrogate the present political moment, not as a moment without historical foundation but as one that is always allegorical, a moment that reaches simultaneously backwards and forwards. Sharon Hayes lives and works in New York.
