How does a face change beneath a mask? What associations does this trigger in viewers? Mara Mattuschka’s initial idea led to a film about birth in which her face struggles to liberate itself through layers of nylon tights. This is a second birth which also produces her alter ego Mimi Minus, under which Mattuschka makes numerous other films.
