Sixteen-year-old Nalu has had enough of her tedious life in a little Brazilian village on the border with Uruguay. When she has to look after her blind father Ruben after her grandmother dies, it all becomes too much for her. Her best friend Elisa is always at her side. Together, they draw up plans for the future. Her art teacher Rosario also gives her hope. She trusts her – until she starts showing more and more interest in Ruben …

Cristiane Oliveira

Christiane Oliveira started her career as a film-maker with the short films Messalina (2004) and Guests (2008). Messalina has competed in over 20 festivals worldwide and won 13 awards. Oliveira has worked as a director’s assistant on various productions and as author of Nine Chronicles for a Screaming Heart by Gustavo Galvão. Mulher do pai is her debut feature film.
