Achat is seven years old when her parents send her from the Congo to France and give her up for adoption in Paris. After her adoptive mother dies, a nightmare begins as Achat falls victim to abuse and child trafficking. When she manages to leave France, the odyssey continues. Miles to Go Before I Sleep tells the story of a stolen identity.

1991 in Finnland geboren, arbeitete Hovitie nach dem Abitur bei verschiedenen finnischen Filmproduktionen. 2011 begann sie Kinematografie und Schnitt an der Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki zu studieren. Miles to Go Before I Sleep ist ihr Abschlussfilm.
