Memory Extended marks the beginning of Yara Haskiel’s long research into her family history. The video shows the impossibility of finding names of former family members deported from Thessaloniki to Auschwitz. In a non-linear narrative, these gaps in Haskiel’s own history are linked to the archives of the Jewish communities in Greece, which have been lost, scattered or destroyed in various places.
