Chia-Hsin Liu
A student of anthropology, Lin Fan is carrying out a research project on the subject of prostitution and decides to gain her own experiences of the sex industry. She starts working as a hostess in a night club and discovers a parallel universe that mixes illusion and reality and a culture in which excess is a matter of course. But when one of her customers treats her with a kindness and respect rarely seen in the industry, the lines between business and pleasure start to blur.

Die taiwanesisch-kanadische Regisseurin Chia-Hsin Liu lebt in Taipei. Sie studierte an der National Taiwan University of Arts, wo sie ihren Abschluss in Filmproduktion machte. Als Drehbuchautorin und Regisseurin arbeitet sie derzeit in kollaborativen Projekten an Kurzfilmen und Langfilmdrehbüchern. Ihr Kurzfilm Lin Fan im Nachtclub wurde auf internationalen Festivals gezeigt, u. a. beim Internationalen Kurzfilmfestival in Clermont-Ferrand und dem interfilm Festival in Berlin.
