A brief scene from a Super-8 home video, an archetypal snapshot: two little girls riding on coin-operated rocking horses. As the horses stop, an abrupt end indeed, the children’s world collapses. All that remains is a tearful look into the camera – reproachful, sad.
Sasha Pirker has made Life is Beautiful available to the IFFF Dortmund + Köln as the trailer for 2015.
Sasha Pirker
Sasha Pirker studied linguistics in Paris and Vienna. She now lives in Vienna and teaches film, video and art at the Academy of Fine Arts. Shown at international festivals, her work frequently takes the process of filmic creation and perception as their theme. First and foremost, though, Ms Pirker is interested in social issues.
