A life without the Internet, can you imagine it? »Probably not.«
14-year-old Claudia has a love-hate relationship with her mobile phone. It connects her with her friends, and yet she often feels alone and insecure, a sensation fuelled by the pictures of lots of seemingly much more beautiful and happier people than herself. Claudia prefers to ›chat‹ instead of sharing content, but that means she is constantly confronted with news posted by the others. Now the holiday is coming and that means a time without Internet access – what consequences will this have?

Eef Hilgers
Eef Hilgers graduated from St. Joost Art Academy in Breda (Netherlands) in 2012 with the documentary film Just a Girl, You Know. The film portrays young girls whose identities are significantly shaped by YouTube. This was followed by other youth documentaries that look at how digitalisation impacts teenagers. Hilgers has also directed various series formats targeting young audiences.
