Should women earn the same as men? That was unheard of in the 1970s! Until the »Heinze women«, employees of a Gelsenkirchen photo company, changed this. When they went to the Federal Labor Court for equal pay in 1981 – and won – they caused a nationwide sensation. No one pushes us away tells the fictional story, based on the »Heinze-Frauen«, of three employees of the Kunze photo group in Gelsenkirchen, who, with a lot of assertiveness and solidarity among women in the Ruhr area, as was typical in these times of the women’s movement, Pave the way towards ‘equal pay’. Incidentally, the title of the film goes back to a fight song by the Black peace activist Fasia Jansen, who supported the women musically at the time.
