Miten Marjoja Poimitaan
How to Pick Berries
Elina Talvensaari
Strangers suddenly appear in the swamps of Northern Finland and disrupt the locals’ established routine. As the incomers pick berries and discover secret places of growth, the berries begin to embody for the locals all that is worth cherishing about their heritage. The situation turns uneasy. Who is to blame and who is profiting from all this? In her How to Pick Berries, a documentary film, Elina Talvensaari explores the Finnish mind and points to the absurdities of a global economy.
