62-year-old Helga is stuck – both figuratively and literally. Living alone, she falls off a ladder and suddenly finds herself stuck in a ventilation shaft. Next morning, she’s discovered by her cleaning lady’s holiday stand-in, Ryszard from Poland. Although a skilled manual worker, Ryszard is forced to carry out his household tasks under the scrutiny of Helga’s constant gaze. This unlikely encounter literally turns Helga’s life upside down.
