Over the last ten years, the incidence of female genital cosmetic surgery has grown by no less than 500%. Ellie Land uses Centrefold to take a look at the circumstances and consequences of these operations. Seen in terms of post-feminism, is labioplasty merely a private matter?

In ihren Arbeiten untersucht Ellie Land Sujets wie Weiblichkeit, Geschlechterpolitik, Erziehung und Identität. Die Filmemacherin studierte am Royal College of Art in London Animation und erhielt 2007 ihren Master. Fünf Jahre lang war sie Dozentin für Animation, unter anderem am London College of Communication und am National Institute of Design in Indien. Zurzeit unterrichtet sie Animation an der Designschule der Northumbria University in England
