Daba Berman Duff
Catalogue shows pictures of furniture and objects in a catalogue, namely, designer items that would be the pride of any living room. The camera gazes at page after page of objects, each one exquisite and exquisitely photographed. What we do not know: the items are cheap imitations of desirable originals.
With her film shot in 16 mm, Dana Berman Duff sets out to question how long it takes to look at objects of desire and to arouse desire. Since she as director has control over the various parameters, the medium of film helps her find an answer here.

Dana Berman Duff studierte am California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles Skulptur und Film. Ihre Film und Videoarbeiten und Skulpturen werden unter anderem im Museum of Modern Art in New York oder auf dem Toronto International Film Festival gezeigt. Duff ist Kunstprofessorin am Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Sie lebt und arbeitet in New York, Los Angeles und Mexiko.
