Hye Rim Lee
Since 2001, Lee has developed and refined her animated character TOKI as part of her ongoing TOKI/Cyborg project. TOKI, the Black Rose Queen, floats and spins on the flower ring in the Mushroom Woods, trying to escape her trauma of death and lost love. Now she searches for love and happiness in the diamond rain and plays with the clouds of pearls and marching pink bunnies.
Hye Rim Lee
Hye Rim Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea and studied at Ewha Women’s University. In 1985 she graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in voice. In 1993 Lee moved to New Zealand and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Intermedia at Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland in 2002. She is mainly known for her 3D animations, digital sculptures and performance platforms.
