Mary Ana
Bisheh (thicket) was the name of a small anarchist- feminist group to which Mary Ana and her friend Shen belonged. Shen now lives in Iran. An experimental performance video about resistance and love, geographical distance and closeness, the result of a combination of artistic production and friendship.
Mary Ana
Mary Ana (Maryam Sheikh, born 1981) is an Iranian filmmaker and artist. She studied Persian Language and Literature in Iran. Because of her activities in student organisations and working class, feminist and LGBTQ movements, she was increasingly pressured by the Iranian government and left the country in 2013. Sheikh has been living as a refugee in Sweden since 2015. She has taken film courses at Marieborg film school and a documentary film course at Linköping University.
