German premiere of »Aurora« opens IFFF Dortmund+Köln 2021
The 38. edition of the IFFF Dortmund+Köln opens on June 15th with the German premiere of Aurora. The Costa Rican director Paz Fábrega is taking part in the International Feature Film Competition of the Festival for the second time (after her debut film Agua fría de mar in 2010).
Aurora is the story of architect Luisa, who also teaches art classes, and 17-year-old Yuliana who is trying to hide an unwanted pregnancy. Showing huge respect for her characters, Paz Fábrega sensitively depicts the process of fostering mutual trust while trying to find the best solution to the situation. The film celebrated its world premiere in February at IFF Rotterdam.
The festival opening will take place with many conversations and film excerpts on an interactive platform, which also enables a personal exchange in our virtual festival lounge at the end. Further information follows.
