We are showing short films about our connections to the city, surprising encounters, pleasure and frustration in consumer society, the pressure for self-optimisation, fantastic worlds, queer bodies and the power of red shoes… Discoveries from all over the world will be shown in three different short film programmes this summer on Neumarkt Cologne: from the awakening of the big city to the hairdressing salon as the navel of the world to the ultimate shopping.

Thematically linked to the city’s culture, these film gems selected by cologne film festival makers are interesting for everyone – funny, surreal, critical, short and crisp! With this »Stattkino«, the art of short film invites you to linger.

We have selected the short film programmes together with Afrika Film Festival Köln, Köln im Film and KFFK/Kurzfilmfestival Köln.
