Dame 2 recreates an interview on Parkinson with Helen Mirren from 1975, transcribed and performed as a song by Elkin. The work explores the notion of improvisation and power-balance within the recorded-as-live TV format, and re-cites/recites this particular interview, which is so often referenced as an example of historic sexism.

Kathryn Elkin (* 1983 in Belfast) hat die Glasgow School of Art (2005) und das Goldsmiths College (2012) abgeschlossen. Sie lebt derzeit in Berwick Upon Tweed. Ihre Performance und Videoarbeiten beschäftigen sich mit Rollenspiel und Improvisation. Sie erhielt die Warwick Stafford Fellowship 2017 der Northumbria University und arbeitet als Dozentin an der Liverpool John Moore’s University.
