Cecilia Condit
Two young women are pursued in a shopping mall by a cannibal. In a surreal suburban setting, victims become aggressors, the familiar becomes the fantastic. Possibly in Michigan intermixes horror and humour, sexuality and violence. Cecilia Condit’s feminist fairytales give a subversive twist to traditional Freudian metaphors and female representations.
Cecilia Condit
1947 geboren, studierte Condit Bildhauerei am Philadelphia College of Art und Fotografie an der Tyler School of Art, Temple University. Festivals und Museen weltweit zeigten ihre Arbeiten, darunter das Museum of Modern Art in New York. In ihrer Kunst arbeitet sie mit Video, Super-8-Film und Found Footage. Musik und gesungene Dialoge, autobiografische und archetypische Referenzen spielen in ihren Arbeiten eine wichtige Rolle. Condit unterrichtet Film an der University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
