Sixteen-year-old Nalu has had enough of her tedious life in a little Brazilian village on the border with Uruguay. When she has to look after her blind father Ruben after her grandmother dies, it all becomes too much for her. Her best friend Elisa is always at her side. Together, they draw up plans for the future. Her art teacher Rosario also gives her hope. She trusts her – until she starts showing more and more interest in Ruben …

Cristiane Oliveira
Christiane Oliveira begann ihre Karriere als Filmemacherin mit den Kurzfilmen Messalina (2004) und Guests (2008). Messalina stand bei über 20 Festivals weltweit im Wettbewerb und wurde 13-mal ausgezeichnet. Sie arbeitete als Regieassistentin bei verschiedenen Produktionen sowie als Autorin für Nine Chronicles for a Screaming Heart von Gustavo Galvão. Mulher do pai ist ihr Spielfilmdebüt.
