In the Brooklyn district of Williamsburg some forty apartment towers are being built that will drastically change the face of the neighbourhood. Open House shows this process at work, focusing on how long-established structures are literally torn apart by outside developers capitalizing on a frenzied housing market, putting locals under pressure to sell out while the price is right.

Die Arbeiten der amerikanischen Videokünstlerin und Medienkunsterzieherin Diane Nerwen werden international gezeigt. Unter anderem auf den Internationalen Filmfestspielen Berlin, im Museum of Modern Art, im Guggenheim Museum (beide New York) und in der Tate Modern in London. Sie erhielt in den USA mehrere Stipendien und lebte 2001 als Artist in Residence des Deutschen Akademischen Austausch Dienstes (DAAD) in Berlin.
