Zoos reveal the human relationship to nature. They offer various settings in which the animal becomes an image in which we in turn look to recognise ourselves. The zoo visitors stop longer than usual at this ›non-toed fur-coatie‹ enclosure. They are slightly confused at the lack of eye contact with this species. The ›fur-coaties‹ are moved mechanically and critically question the mechanics of our perception.
Neozoon
NEOZOON ist ein 2009 in Berlin und Paris gegründetes Künstlerinnenkollektiv. Die Arbeiten der Gruppe basieren auf dem Prinzip der Collage und untersuchen soziologische Fragen zum Verhältnis von Mensch und Tier. In ihren Videofilmen stellen sie Found-Footage-und YouTube-Material immer wieder in neue und überraschende Kontexte. Ihre Arbeiten wurden u. a. im Centre Pompidou in Paris gezeigt und liefen auf nationalen und internationalen Filmfestivals.
