An exploration of the magic and dynamism of blackness in a realm where time and space are altered. The now, the past and the future are rethought and reordered to create something soulful and mind-bendingly visceral. The soundtrack features music and sounds from James Baldwin, Sun Ra, Chance The Rapper, Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment, Rotary Connection, Pharaoh Sanders and Shafiq Husayn. It includes quotes and moments from Alice Coltrane, Audre Lorde, Kwame Nkrumah, Sun Ra and James Baldwin.

Jenn Nkiru ist Absolventin des MFA-Studiengangs Film der Howard University, Washington, D.C. Ihr erster Film En Vogue (gedreht mit Bradford Young und Arthur Jafa) war ein internationaler Kritikererfolg. Ihr zweiter Kurzfilm Rebirth Is Necessary wurde u. a. im Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA, LA), im ICA, London, auf dem International Film Festival Rotterdam und bei der Premiere von Black Panther im BFI London gezeigt.
