This year’s key visual piques curiosity about the festival: an opulent green curtain, draped in sensual, almost fleshy folds, reveals a glimpse of a space beyond. A light shines at us from afar: is it the rising sun, or the beam of light from the projector that conjures the films onto the screen?

The key visual plays with expectations and twists spaces: behind the stage curtain, the cinema auditorium suddenly appears. Or are we standing behind the curtain? A minimalist yet powerful image, conceived by the Dortmund-based design studio Ten Ten Team and realized in collaboration with Berlin photographer Philotheus Nisch, confidently and solemnly representing film culture.
