We’re back with World Views in Cologne!

In her film Maydegol, internationally acclaimed Iranian documentary filmmaker and producer Sarvnaz Alambeigi tells the moving story of a young Afghan woman who, despite displacement, poverty, and discrimination, clings to her dream of becoming a professional athlete. The film showcases her unwavering determination to fight for self-determination and dignity through the sport of boxing. At the same time, the film paints a powerful portrait of a generation of Afghan women who are rebelling against social constraints and injustices.

We warmly invite everyone – whether or not they have an international background, women who have experienced displacement, their families, and anyone interested in outstanding, often rarely screened international films directed by women – to join us for the World Views series.
