29 May: »#Female Pleasure« at Kölner Kino Nächte

We are part of Kölner Kino Nächte 2026!

Together with Edimotion—Festival for the Art of Film Editing and ifs Internationale Filmschule Köln, we are screening the documentary #Female Pleasure by Barbara Miller as part of the ifs-Begegnung series.

Female Pleasure brings together five international figures who have broken free from extremely closed societies and now aim to raise awareness of free female sexuality through their courage and creativity. Despite the diversity of their stories, the film succeeds in highlighting their universal commonalities. This is largely due to its clever editing. Through her cohesive editing, editor Isabel Meier skillfully weaves the individual voices into a unified message: the taboo surrounding female sexuality is a global problem, and the struggle of each individual is a struggle for us all.

Isabel Meier says: »Bringing this centuries-old history of oppression—which shapes the lives of women all over the world—to life in a cinematic form that informs, stirs the soul, and moves the audience was both a great joy and a challenge for me as a filmmaker.«

A film that was made shortly after the #MeToo movement and continues to inspire.

Following the screening, there will be a discussion with editor Isabel Meier, moderated by Dr. Maxa Zoller (Artistic Director of IFFF Dortmund+Köln).

Admission is free.
