29 June: »Art on the MOve« MARY BAUERMEISTER: EINS UND EINS IST DREI

“One plus one equals three” Correct? Yes! Our next »Art on the MOve« screening is dedicated to the artist Mary Bauermeister, who passed away this year. She is considered the mother of the Fluxus movement. In the attic of Cologne’s Lintgasse, Bauermeister wrote art history with personalities such as Karlheinz Stockhausen, John Cage and Nam June Paik at the beginning of the 1960s. The impressive documentary film by Carmen Belaschk is dedicated to the life and work of the exceptional artist, who knew how to combine male-dominated post-war art with female materialism – a unique selling point that is only being rediscovered today.

The film is shown as part of Museum Ostwall’s current exhibition »Nam June Paik: I Expose the Music«. The exhibition curators are guests.
