The 15th Kölner Kino Nächte will take place in Cologne from 29th June until 2nd July. Similar to the Long Night of Museums, Music or Theatre, the Cologne cinema and film scene would like to take the opportunity to present the whole range and possibilities of cinema in a concentrated form on one weekend.

Queer life under the Bolsonaro government in Brazil: the second part of the long-term study of the trans son of director Coraci Ruiz (‘Threshold’, 2020) observes the cohesion and creative power of her child’s queer circle of friends with great patience and empathy. Personal conversations, doctor’s visits, empowerment workshops, visits to the authorities, street parties, zoom meetings during the pandemic – and slogans on graffiti walls again and again: in keeping with ColognePride, the IFFF Dortmund+Köln is showing a film about the queer movement on the streets of Brazil. A multi-award-winning film full of gentle, empowering images of a mother who wants to understand.
