14th IFFF Dortmund+Köln women’s film festival industry meeting during Berlinale

The Connection: Women’s Film Festivals Now
Spotlight on: Herat International Women’s Film Festival, Afghanistan

Women’s film festivals have built networks of solidarity across the world for over half a century. With its 40+ year old history the IFFF Dortmund+Köln aims to bring these powerful global feminist communities face to face at its annual industry meeting. We will honor a different festival each year and provide the opportunity for extensive networking, knowledge transfer and future collaborations.

We are delighted to welcome Roya Sadat, director, producer and founder of the Herat International Women’s Film Festival – the first festival of its kind in Afghanistan. Together with her and other experts, we will not only look at the festival’s pioneering local and international impact up until 2020 but also discuss strategies to continue this powerful platform. How can we support female filmmakers in solidarity and action to tell their own stories? #standwithwomeninafghanistan
