Zuza Banasińska
In a Polish folk tale, the spirit of a possessed girl has been trapped inside a stone for centuries. Now, however, it visits the director’s 102-year-old grandmother, sitting in her living room awaiting her passage to the next life. Between the two of them, trapped within their bodies, a tender dialogue unfolds about their memories, old age and death. Documentary, animated and scripted footage are woven together. Possession as a form of communication.

Zuza Banasińska ist Künstler*in und Filmemacher*in aus Warschau und lebt derzeit in Amsterdam. Anhand von Archiven untersucht Banasińska in Essayfilmen und Installationen, wie die Reproduktion von Bildern die Reproduktion von Systemen, Subjekten und Körpern ermöglicht. Banasińska studierte an der Akademie der Künste in Krakau, an der Universität der Künste in Berlin und am Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam.
