If you missed the cinema tour, you now have another chance\u2014we\u2019re screening The Moelln Letters<\/strong> at World Views Cologne!<\/p>\n

1992: Far-right arson attacks on two apartment buildings in M\u00f6lln. In the aftermath, countless letters of solidarity were sent, but they never reached the victims and instead disappeared into the archives. \u0130brahim Arslan and his family engage in dialogue with the authorities, seek contact with the letter writers, and in doing so demonstrate what a culture of remembrance that listens to them might look like.<\/p>\n

The Moelln Letters<\/strong> was the opening film of the IFFF Dortmund+K\u00f6ln 2025 and one of the most successful German documentaries of last year.<\/p>\n

We are screening the film in collaboration with the Herkesin Meydan\u0131 \u2014 Platz f\u00fcr alle<\/em> initiative.<\/p>\n

The initiative was formed in 2019 to advocate for the construction of a memorial on Keupstra\u00dfe in Cologne. Although this year marks the 22nd anniversary of the nail bomb attack on Keupstra\u00dfe, there is still no memorial site on the street. Together with survivors, residents, artists, activists, and other initiatives, they are fighting for a survivor-centered remembrance. They are also actively involved in the nationwide networking of survivors of racist violence and advocate for their concerns and demands.<\/p>\n

The film will be shown as part of our monthly \u00bbWorld Views\u00ab film series. People with and without an international history, women with refugee experience, their families and anyone interested in excellent, often rarely shown international films directed by women are warmly invited to the programme.<\/p>\n
