The Munich-based association RomAnity e.V.<\/em> is producing an extraordinary film project, an anime musical about the persecution of the Sinti and Roma. Together with the Dortmund-based Romano Than e.V.<\/em>, we are presenting this pioneering work.<\/p>\n

Ati\u0111e (project manager, Unbroken<\/strong>) will give an introduction to the work using selected film clips and images.<\/p>\n

This will be followed by a discussion between Ati\u0111e (project manager, Unbroken<\/strong>), Zejhun Demirov (protagonist, Unbroken<\/strong>) and Susey Wendy (protagonist, Unbroken<\/strong>). The discussion will be moderated by Maxa Zoller (artistic director, IFFF).<\/p>\n

Unbroken<\/strong> tells five moving life stories:
\nRukeli Trollmann \u2013 boxing champion and rebel
\nElse Baker \u2013 a child in Auschwitz
\nOtto Rosenberg \u2013 Holocaust survivor and civil rights activist for the Sinti and Roma
\nWalter Winter \u2013 a contemporary witness of the Porajmos and chronicler of the Sinti persecution
\nNoncia Markowska \u2013 a lifesaver with the courage to take risks<\/p>\n

What if memory doesn’t gather dust in archives, but comes alive on screen?
\nWhat if Sinti and Roma tell their own stories \u2013 powerfully, creatively, and unmistakably?<\/p>\n

But Unbroken<\/strong> is more than just a film\u2014it’s part of a larger educational project (funded by the EVZ Foundation). The goal is to finally make the topic of the Holocaust against Sinti and Roma accessible to teachers. The accompanying learning platform, with its interactive and narrative design, feels more like a video game than a classroom setting. Both the film and the learning platform can be used directly in the classroom without any prior knowledge.<\/p>\n
